Inaugural Benefit Concert
Sun Apr 02 2017 00:30:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)
Welcome to the first annual ‘88Keys to Cure’ concert. We are very excited to announce the start of this organization, and we thank you for your support in fulfilling our cause to help patients of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
We came together as part of the Sueanne Metz Piano Studio. Throughout the years, we have encouraged each other in performance, supported each other in competition, and traveled together across the country and internationally. We have developed a unique bond sharing our love for music within the positive tone of the studio. We wanted to show our gratitude by bringing people together with our music and giving back to the community. Our vision to form 88Keys to Cure is to provide a platform for future studio generations to build upon for a cause they are passionate about.
During our experiences as musicians, we’ve been so fortunate to cross paths with many kind-hearted and generous people. Dr. Nana Matoba was an accomplished pianist who now treats premature infants in the NICU at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. We approached her about our idea to organize a benefit concert. She invited us to the hospital and introduced us to the NICU staff. We learned about the many struggles the patients and families face and ways we could help.
Your donation to 88Keys to Cure will be directed to the NICU at Lurie Children's Hospital which may go toward the purchase of a number of specific items. Some examples include Zflo Cushions to improve stamina and support for premature infants; Medela hospital grade pumps for mothers to use at home while her baby resides in the NICU; or self-care sessions for families preparing for the challenges ahead. We hope you will join us on April 1st and support our cause.
